bbbkm stores your reading records on your device. t9ybase does not run a server that receives your books, notes, reading time, or location records from the app.

Operator: t9ybase · Effective: October 15, 2026 · iOS app and product and support website

1. Records stored on your device

You can use the app without an account. The following information is stored on your device.

InformationPurpose
Books and bookmarksManage titles, authors, publishers, ISBNs, page counts, reading status, and your current reading position.
Reading entries and notesSave reading time, page ranges, notes, and notes for next time to display in your journal and stats.
Selected places and locationsConnect locations you select or allow, their accuracy, and recorded routes to your entries.
App settingsRemember automatic location recording and chart display preferences.

The app does not use advertising trackers or a separate usage analytics service. External services’ handling of connection information, and operating system diagnostics and backups, are described below and governed by the relevant providers’ policies.

2. Camera and location permissions

The camera is used to scan book barcodes. The app does not send barcode camera footage to the operator’s servers. Without camera access, you can still search by title and add books manually.

Location is used to record where a reading session starts and, optionally, your route. With automatic location recording enabled and location access allowed, turning on “On the move” connects location samples to the active reading session. Route recording while the screen is off depends on your operating system’s background location permissions and operating conditions.

Route recording stops when you turn off “On the move”, pause, or finish reading. Change automatic location recording in the app’s Settings and location permissions in your device settings. Revoking permission does not automatically delete records already saved.

3. When the app or website contacts external services

ServiceHow it is used
National Library of Korea, Open Library, and NDL Search (National Diet Library, Japan)Receive an ISBN or search terms for book lookup. Lookup requests do not include your reading notes or routes. These services may process connection information such as your IP address.
Apple MapsDisplays maps on iOS. Apple’s Maps privacy information applies to its handling of map requests and location-related information.
CloudflareDelivers and protects this introduction and support website. Access information, such as IP addresses, request times, and requested paths, may be processed when you visit. Cloudflare Email Routing also forwards incoming support emails.
Google GmailReceives and stores support emails and is used to reply. These emails include the sender’s email address, message, and attachments.

Book lookup and map requests go directly from your device to the relevant service. t9ybase does not receive your on-device reading records to sell them or share them for advertising.

Cloudflare, Inc. and Google LLC are based in the United States and may process information in multiple countries, including the United States, as part of their operations. Their policies below explain processing locations, security measures, and service retention practices.

This website does not use visitor analytics or advertising scripts. The pages themselves do not create cookies or use browser storage. The website server does not store visit records. Cloudflare’s processing for service delivery and security is separate; if cookies are used, you can manage them in your browser settings.

Book data from the National Diet Library, Japan, is provided through the NDL Search API under CC BY 4.0 (see NDL Search). bbbkm extracts book fields and normalizes ISBNs and page counts. Imported information can be edited.

4. Retention, backups, and deletion

You manage the reading records on your device. A backup file exported from the app includes books, reading entries, notes, places, and routes. You choose where to save or share it, and the policies of your chosen file storage or sharing service apply.

App data may be included in your operating system’s device backups. Operating system backups and files you export are separate from server sync; bbbkm does not provide its own server sync.

Deleted books and entries are excluded from normal app screens and new backup exports. Some data may remain on your device after deletion. To remove all app data from your device, clear the app’s data through your operating system or delete the app. On iOS, “Offload App” keeps its data.

Previously exported files, copies held by people you shared them with, and operating system backups must be deleted separately wherever they are stored. The operator cannot access your device or its backups to delete them for you.

5. Support information and your rights

The t9ybase operator handles support and privacy inquiries. Contact rnaster.woo@t9ybase.com.

ItemHow it is handled
Information receivedThe operator receives your email address, message, and attachments only when you send an email. The operator does not ask for sensitive records unrelated to your inquiry or your entire backup file.
PurposeTo answer your inquiry, investigate errors, and provide the support you request. This information is not used to send advertising.
RetentionKept for as long as needed to answer your inquiry and handle related requests, then deleted without delay when that purpose is fulfilled and the information is no longer needed. Unresolved requests are kept until they are handled.
Deletion methodThe operator deletes the email and attachments from the managed mailbox and removes them from Trash. Any separately downloaded copies are also deleted. Service-provider backups and similar copies follow that service’s deletion procedures.

Information is retained separately only where legally required, with the applicable legal basis and retention period identified. You can use the app’s reading features without contacting support.

You may use the address above to request access to, correction or deletion of, or suspension of the processing of information the operator holds from support inquiries. Requests are handled after identity verification limited to what is needed to confirm the request. If a legal restriction applies, the reason will be explained. Manage on-device records directly through the app and your operating system.

6. Protecting information

The introduction and support website uses HTTPS. Support information is reviewed only as needed to provide help and is not posted on public pages. The operator cannot access your on-device records or personal backups.
